The Southern Virginia GO Region 3 Council announces the issuance of four Requests for Proposals as described below.  The RFPs are available here. Responses to all RFPs are due in full by the following dates and times, to the Southside Planning District Commission:

    1. Marketing, Branding & Communication Services

The primary purpose of the Marketing, Branding & Communication Services RFP is to effectively contract with a firm to provide professional marketing, public relations, media planning and placement, and an overall communications strategy for the Region 3 Southern Virginia GO Council.

The primary purpose of the High-Value Wood Products RFP is to develop strategies, approaches and potential projects that will result in the highest probability of positive outcomes, as discussed in the Region 3 Growth & Diversification Plan, specifically in the area of High Value Wood Products.

The primary purpose of the Apprenticeship RFP is to develop strategies, approaches and potential projects that will result in the highest probability of positive outcomes, as discussed in the Region 3 Growth & Diversification Plan, specifically in the area of Apprenticeships.

The primary purpose of the Cyber Infrastructure RFP is to develop strategies, approaches and potential projects that will result in the highest probability of positive outcomes, as discussed in the Region 3 Growth & Diversification Plan, specifically in the area of deployment of cyber infrastructure.

For all the RFPs, the Southside Planning District Commission will serve as the Region 3 primary agent and will select one or more firms to provide these services using the competitive negotiation procedure defined in Section § 2.2-4302.2. of the Virginia Public Procurement Act. These RFPs do not commit the Southside Planning District Commission to award a contract, to pay any costs incurred in the preparation of a proposal for this project, or to procure or contract for services. The Southside Planning District Commission reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals received as a result of this request, to negotiate with any qualified firm, or to modify or cancel in part or in its entirety the RFP it if is in the best interest of the Southside PDC and the Southern Virginia GO Region 3 Council. The Southside PDC does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, sex, national origin, age, disability, or any other basis prohibited by state law relating to discrimination in employment.   Minority, small, and women-owned businesses are encouraged to submit a proposal.

The mission of GO Virginia is to encourage collaboration among business, education, and government in each region, on activities that will enhance private sector growth and opportunity, economic competitiveness, and alignment of workforce development programs with the needs of the employers in the regions. GO Virginia is managed within nine regions of Virginia. Southern Virginia GO Region 3 includes the Counties of Patrick, Henry, Pittsylvania, Halifax, Mecklenburg, Brunswick, Nottoway, Prince Edward, Lunenburg, Buckingham, Cumberland, Charlotte, Amelia and the Cities of Martinsville and Danville.
